The Hyper-Invisibility Of Sexually-Liberated Black Women In Church

A lot of black women, in church, are afraid to explore the idealism of sexuality because religion has taught them that their bodies are properties that belong to men.

Honoring the visibility of these black women in church does not mean that those who do see them are perpetuating some sort of revolt against the church, however, it is saying that the church, as we see it, have to evolve in their perceptions of black women.

It’s time that we reject traditionalistic doctrines that are harmful towards the autonomy of black women.
