Exposing The Church Is Not Exploiting The Church

When we begin to meticulously scrutinize the black church, it is important to understand, that exposing is not synonomous to exploiting. Being able to expose its discrepancies; allows us to intellectually produce solutions that will better enhance God’s kingdom.

Challenging pernicious systems within the church, that oppress black women, specifically, is not exploiting the church, rather, it allows us to examine what is causing the black church to not grow or function properly.

Exploiting the church is when we use God’s word or our spiritual gifts to profit off the gullibility of marginalized groups of people. Do you see why these two are not the same?

So when we read articles or think pieces that challenge our ways of perceiving church or how we intellectually internalize scriptural context; understand that its motive is to disempower while empowering change.
